Lancaster above average for graduate employment

Lancaster University is singled out for its high levels of graduate employment in The Sunday Times University Guide 2012.

The Guide ranks Lancaster the top university in the North West, saying: “An above-average proportion of students get graduate-level jobs (74%) and its unemployment rate is well below standard. Its appeal is also enhanced by an outstanding teaching and research record, good enough to rank it consistently in the top 20 nationally.”

Lancaster University also has high levels of student  satisfaction, with physical science (90.8%), geography and environmental science (87%) and media studies (83.7%) recording the highest scores for student satisfaction with teaching quality, academic support, assessment and feedback.

The University ranks 18th nationally in the Sunday Times University Guide, up three places on last year, and it is also ranked in the top ten in all the major UK university league tables.

Lancaster is one of the biggest risers in the QS World University Rankings, gaining 28 places to be ranked 153 out of 300 universities globally and in the top one per cent in the world.
