Lancaster wins award for best student accommodation

10/01/2010 13:59:41

Lancaster University has emerged as the ‘Best University Halls’ 2010 in a nationwide student survey.

Each year the results of the National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) are used to calculate three awards designed to recognise the achievements of organisations which are leading the way in improving accommodation standards for students.

The ‘Best University Halls’ award is given to the institution demonstrating the highest levels of student satisfaction amongst residents.

The National Student Housing Survey is an annual survey of students in higher education across the UK. The survey measures satisfaction levels in university halls, private halls and private rented housing, and allows participating institutions to measure their performance against national and regional benchmarks. The 2010 survey attracted more than 10,000 responses from 120 universities and colleges.

Winners in the remaining two categories were the City of Stirling for ‘Best Student Living Experience’, and BRANDEAUX / Liberty Living for the ‘Best Private Halls Provider’ award.
