Honorary degrees for Princess Alexandra and Lord May

The Chancellor, Sir Christian Bonington, presided over the degree ceremonies for higher degrees and postgraduate diplomas on Monday 12 December.


HRH Princess Alexandra, (pictured right), Lancaster University's founding Chancellor until 2004, receives an honorary doctorate of music from Sir Chris Bonington,Lancaster's current Chancellor, at a degree ceremony on Monday 12 December. The award of a doctorate of music is a tribute to Princess Alexandra's love of music.









Lord May of Oxford (pictured right) receives an honorary doctorate from Chancellor Sir Chris Bonington, at a degree cermony on Monday 12 December. He has been Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Government, President of the Royal Society and is a Companion of the Order of Australia, a member of the British Order of Merit and a Life Peer.
