Lancaster University in UK Top 20

08/02/2007 10:33:31

Lancaster University has been rated as one of the UK’s top 20 universities and the top university in the North West in an authoritative guide published today.

The UK University Guide places Lancaster University 19th out of 113 Universities.

The online guide, which has been designed to help guide students through the process of selecting a university, judges universities on nine different criteria which range from entry standards to graduate prospects.

Other criteria were: student satisfaction, research assessment, student-staff radio, academic services spending, facilities spending, good honours and completion rates.

For the first time, this year the guide will appear online enabling students to draw up their own tables.

Lancaster University Vice Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings said: “It is tremendously satisfying to see this league table reflecting what students tell us year after year.

“Lancaster University is a highly-rated research-intensive University which offers students excellent teaching standards and is investing in significant new facilities from student accommodation to teaching space.”
