The success of 110 students, who have successfully completed a part-time Lancaster University Certificate, has been celebrated at an awards ceremony presided over by the Chancellor of the University, Sir Christian Bonington.

The event on campus was a highly enjoyable and welcoming occasion for the students and their families, who had come along to share in their success. Sir Christian warmly congratulated all of the students as he conferred the Certificates, and spoke to each student individually about their achievements and their aspirations for the future.

The students have studied part-time for several years with Lancaster University’s School of Lifelong Learning and Widening Participation, many of them while they were also working and caring for families. They received a range of Certificates, in subjects as diverse as Psychology, Creative Writing, Local History, Network & Systems Administration, and Ecological & Environmental Studies. Each Certificate is worth 40-120 credits and is equivalent in level to the first year of undergraduate study. Most of the students studied with the Department of Continuing Education which runs a wide range of Certificate programmes. For more information, call 01524 592623/4
