Freshly Squeezed at the Peter Scott Gallery

06/04/2001 10:38:02

The gallery hosts numerous showcases from travelling exhibitions to Lancaster's very own student displays. The next exhibition to brighten up the campus will be 'Freshly Squeezed,' which includes an exciting selection of Contemporary Art produced by final year degree students. The exhibition promises to be a stimulating experience and will offer you the chance to purchase some fine pieces of artwork at affordable prices. The exhibition starts 20th June - 27th June and admission is free and is showing at the Art Department too. You can view some works before the exhibition by visiting http://www.lancs.ac.uk/depts/art/degree%20show%20frameset.asp.

The ceramics room, which is dedicated to John Chambers - a Lancastrian designer, boasts some beautiful ceramics and glass. Chambers, who's collection dated back to the 19th Century, donated it to the University in 1994. A guest from Blackpool writes in the visitors book, 'a superb show of glass and ceramics. Congratulations to all concerned,' another from Devon writes, 'well worth the visit to see this superb collection.'

A number of items ranging from silk scarfs, artistic picture postcards and greeting cards (ideal to frame and hang), jewellery and books to decorative ceramics by Norma Tait and Susanne Gosling are for sale at the gallery.
