Certificate in Conflict Resolution Skills

02/08/2002 10:45:30

Dealing with conflict and potential violence is something that many professionals have to deal with all the time in their working lives.

The University is launching a unique two week course, aimed at police officers and other professionals who have to deal with conflict as part of their work, to develop individual techniques to recognise and resolve conflict early.

The course is offering a range of practical skills in understanding and dealing with conflict situations such as negotiation and mediation, and the opportunity to mix with professionals working in a variety of fields.

The Certificate in Conflict Resolution Skills is offered by the Richardson Institute of Peace Studies and the Management Development Division in partnership with the organisation Responding to Conflict. The course is open to recent graduates looking to work in a region of conflict or people with relevant professional qualifications or substantial experience.
