Young Audience Development Day

02/24/2003 17:36:15

Young Audience Development Day to be held on Saturday 1st March 2003 at the Nuffield Theatre.

This is a special (free) event for 16-24 year olds and teachers/lecturers across the region.

In 1998 the Nuffield Theatre launched a three-year collaboration with the Live Wire Project, a commissioning and participation project funded by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of England.

Live Wire resulted in eight new pieces of work from some of the most creative artists working in Britain and Europe. The aims of the project were to introduce young people to challenging new work that they might otherwise not

have access to and to encourage them to engage with the creative processes behind the work.

The Young Audience Development Day follows on from this, taking a creative look at the needs and interests of young people in relation to the Arts.

Funded by North West Arts Board this project aims to harness the enthusiasm and commitment that was generated by Live Wire among students and teachers alike, helping us learn more about what young people want, see and get out of the Arts. Schools and Colleges across the North- West have been invited to take part.

If you are aged between 16 - 24 and would like participate on March 1st. Please contact Sarah Nash on 01524 594160 or email s.nash@lancaster.ac.uk by 26th February
