Denis McCaldin returns to conduct a special performance

The newly-created Emeritus Professor, Denis McCaldin will return to the University after his retirement earlier this year to  conduct a concert of music by Haydn, Bach and Handel in the Great Hall on 24th November at 7.30pm. The finest chamber orchestra in the north west , Manchester Camerata, who are frequent visitors to Lancaster, will be playing along with the highly-acclaimed Lancaster Singers.  Bach's Christmas Oratorio (Part One) will provide a rousing start to the evening, and Handel's charming Concerto Grosso Op 3 No 1 follows. The second half will consist of Haydn's Creation Mass in B flat - a work which was first performed exactly 200 years ago in 1801.
